I ran into the gcc problem early on when I also tried to build the nvidia module. I was going to go and recompile and build on the planets version when I remembered that kernel folks really don't like to hear about bug reports from "tainted" kernels.

So I decided that it would be best if I left everything alone. After all, I was trying to see where the state of the newest rt kernels where and if they could be used here with the planet's distros. During the little time I had to test, reboot, test, reboot... I couldn't find or narrow down why the machine was crashing. I also could not find anything in the logs, so I didn't have much to report.

When Fernando releases a new rt kernel for the planet I'll most likely test it, err torture it, the way I did before; start up jack with a lot of audio apps running and drag around a wine window with "world of warcraft" being very busy in it.
