[PlanetCCRMA] Ghostcript not working? Messes up lilypond and printing...

here's a session for me below. what happens when you evoke gs with the 
flag -sDEVICE=x11  on a .ps file?

it looks like to me your lilypond is trying to use the pdfwrite driver 
to make pdfs and failing there, whereas lilypond here seems to run ps2pdf.
