Dave are you using a graphical login manager? My current FC2 ccrma
partition doesn't use a dispay manager (xdm, gdm)  so for me switching
window managers is as easy as changing my .xinitrc. However changing
the default wm with a login manager can be a harrowing expirience
(just adding fluxbox to your list of wm's is pretty straight forward).
I am at work right now and didnt bring the laptop in today, but when I
get back home tonight I will write up a quick how-to.
