Just a note regarding this setting:

  echo 3 > /proc/sys/kernel/voluntary_preempt

This has been split on most recent VP patches to sum up as:

  echo 1 > /proc/sys/kernel/voluntary_preempt
  echo 1 > /proc/sys/kernel/softirq_preempt
  echo 1 > /proc/sys/kernel/hardirq_preempt

So be warned to change your script(s) as for the next planet FC2 kernel
upgrade, as soon as Nando gets back ;)
