Yes. I have a P4 2.80C box too, which runs the planetccrma 2.4.26.ll
SMP/HT pretty well. Just make sure you do have ACPI enabled at boot time,
or at least add 'acpi=ht' to your smp kernel boot parameter line on grub.

To check if HT is then operational, just `cat /proc/cpuinfo` and you
should see the two (logical) CPUs, instead of just one as it would be if
you run a UP kernel or disabled ACPI.

Not that I remember of. That's probably an issue with the current
bleeding-edge FC2 2.6 kernel _and_ the promising voluntary-preempt patch,
which is still rough in the edges, specially on SMP/HT.

I don't think there's any reason why you can't :)
