On which distro version? FC2? I'm not sure I ever got 2.4.x to run fine
on FC2 (and viceversa, 2.6.x running on FC1 and below).

In /etc/X11/XF86Config or /etc/X11/xorg.conf, those are the X
configuration files (which one depends on which version of X you have,
and that depends on the distro you are using).
