Jason, as you probably know there is quite some variation in the various
usb midi device; some need firmware downloaded first (like my midisport
4x4), while others need special hacks to get the port descriptors right.

You might want to check compatibity of your Triton's USB MIDI interface on
http://www.alsa-project.org/ (I didn't find it), file a bug report in the
Alsa bug tracking system https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-bug/.

LOL, I was just seeing visions of you carrying your Triton as replacement
for an usb memory stick :-)
