[PlanetCCRMA] Can't compile video drivers against new kernel under RH 9

I'm using the low latency kernel from CCMRA.

In order to install the NVidia drivers for my card, I have to recompile
them against the source for the running kernel. I was able to do this
with RH 8 without any trouble, but after having upgraded to RH 9, I get
an error message saying that the compiler used to compile the drivers is
different to the one used to compile the running kernel.

I'm assuming that the drivers are correctly finding the updated kernel
source. Possibly I should post this on the NVidia forum, but can anyone
explain what's wrong?

By the way, I find with the new kernel, when using video software such
as xawtv, I get error messages referring to ioctl when the application
launches. MPlayer also says "Linux RTC init error in ioctl (rtc_irqp_set
1024): Permission denied", which might or might not be related. The
programs work, but I'd apreciate any suggestions as to what might be
causing this (I thought it was the NVidia drivers last time, but it
obviously isn't now.)
