Fernando,
The problem turned out to be with my repository settings. Being
pretty new to this, I don't fully understand how apt-get finds updates,
but browsing around with synaptic, I found entries for repositories on
CD-ROM. I had copied some CD-ROM images in December and thought they'd
be current. Anyway, I deleted these and reran "apt-get install
ezusbmidi" and I got the correct version. MIDI works!
I would suggest you add to the HowTo for USB MIDI at the
appropriate point:
-------
Even if you followed the directions above, make sure you now have the
correct ezusbmidi package:
> rpm -q ezusbmidi
ezusbmidi-2002_11_17-1
If the package is not "ezusbmidi-2002_11_17-1" you can download and
install the rpm from the link on this page.
-------
Thanks,
Roger
