There are a few posts on the kernel mailing lists about 2.4.23
locking up. I've experienced two lockups here. These seems to
be software rather than hardware because they both occurred while
ripping an audio cd (usb2 cd drive) and hit a bad spot on the
cd and left the same sized file even though the ripping program
(cdparanoia) is supposed to eventually skip bad spots.

Not much info I know but for me, I booted 2.4.22-6.ll.rh90smp
and will wait for the next kernel.
