NB: dont try the code in this chaper until i post a new tarfile, there 
are two silly typo bugs that will prevent it from running.  ill make 
the tarfile available sometime this weekend, along with all chapter 
examples saved in .lisp files so you can work with chapter example 
materials from inside xemacs. i will also be using these .lisp files to 
test the system in the various lisps before releasing cm.
