Got it - thank you!  Unfortunately this one behaves pretty much the
same as the earlier one for me.  I got the same 3 kernel warnings as
before (not the oopses you saw :) and it freezes during suspend.  From
KDE, the screen lock comes on, then it switches to console mode, I see
a small number of kernel messages, and very quickly the screen shuts
off -- all good -- but then nothing more happens.  The keyboard LEDs
and fan continue to run for as long as I had patience to wait.  I also
tried "pm-suspend" from console mode, to see if it might either behave
differently or give some more clues, but it ends up the same.

I'm travelling tomorrow, so I might not be able to post the details
right away, but I'll do it as soon as I can.

Oh - OT, but I noticed a quirk while installing:

I noticed that /boot/grub2/grub.cfg had not been updated with the new
kernel entry, and as the posttrans scriptlet only runs one command
(kernel-install), I tried running that myself.  That updated grub.cfg.
