hi
can i get some clarification on a couple of points here?
i have just set up fedora 10 x64 + planet ccrma (apps and kernel) and am
kindy new to linux audio.
i have just a straight forward install and only edited
/etc/modprobe.conf to configure the index of
2 sound cards - onboard nvidia (snd-intel8x0) and a delta 10/10lt
one problem i am having is that in normal desktop usage ( i.e. without
jack) i bring up envy24 control and everything is being played on all
channels , not just analog out 1+2, using pulseaudio i think. i can't
find a way to change this behaviour.
if i run jack )thru qjack) i can fix this ok in the connect section. i
have xmms with jack output which connects its output to ALL system
output at launch, i change it manually, but reverts whenever it comes
across a different file format . ( i have some mp3s but rip my cds in wav)
my second question. is there a way to use jack as the system default? i
mean autoload it at startup and have everything play thru there? i would
like to be able to route anything to anywhere and grab samples from
programs that don't have jack output.
one last thing, i've seen some pulseaudio jack module somewhere in
installation; does that route sound source -> pulse -> jack or jack ->
pulse ?
thanks in advance anyone
