[PlanetCCRMA] M-Audio quattro noise?

Hi all,

On channel 2 input on the quattro, I have quite a lot of noise, as if 
there's AGC or some booster turned on. It creates a lot of hiss and 
nose. With the same level of input, I need to slide the signal coming 
from the mixer down about 30 ro 30dB! Also from the way bottom, when I 
slide it very slowly, I hear a lot of distortion and it comes live 
suddenly, when I slide it higher, it start clipping incredibly badly. 
The whole thing is usable around 20-30dB and nowhere else.

On channel 1, there's nothing. It works perfectly fine.

I don't have any windows machine to test this card - the manual is 
useless. Is there any gain controls on these cards in software?

I'm using balanced output from the mixer. When I switch the mixer 
outputs, the problem stays with the channel I'm monitoring so I know 
it's not a mixer problem.

Any ideas, please? I'm a bit desperate right now.
