Hmmm, I guess removing all the snd kernel modules :-)
I have not yet packaged alsasound (which I used to package in the
"alsa-driver" rpm) - that script is a long time holdover from when alsa
was not part of redhat/fedora. Fedora loads the kernel modules on
startup depending on the hardware that is connected and does not come
with a script to stop/start/restart audio.
I'm attaching the script I have in my machine (fc4), it should work if
you put it in /etc/rc.d/init.d/ (or anywhere else if you just want to
execute it "by hand").
