[PlanetCCRMA] rebooting USB-MIDI-Keyboard hangs kernel-keyboarddriver (?)

I am impressed how good Planet CCRMA at home works, but I have one problem:
after powercycling an USB-MIDI-Keyboard no PS2-Keyboard-events are processed.
reboot from gdmlogin fails because vesa-console can not be opened,
remote reboot via ssh is possible, however.
(mouse is still working, applications and jack-connections can be restarted,
cut-and paste on a terminalwindow are ok but)
Does anyone have a clue ?
Thanks
Reinald
