    I would recommend a clean install as well.  I'm now running well
with FC4 on an Athlon 64 (32 bit of course).  You might want to save a
copy of /etc to your music disk since that's where most of your system
specific stuff lives.  That way you can go look at it when you get stuck
after the install.
