I'm surprised to hear that. I am using Livna extensively, and quite a
few CCRMA packages too. I also suck MythTV in from ATrpms via yum, but
atrpms.repo is normally disabled though, in order to dodge the PRH
(Package Repositories Hell) Effect. No problems so far.

Actually, I access Livna through yum (set it
in /etc/yum.repos.d/livna.repo, normally enabled, Livna plays well with
Fedora / Fedora Updates / Extras) while from CCRMA I am downloading
packages manually (I even rebuild a src.rpm every now and then). Maybe
that's why I'm not seeing the PRH Effect?

Yes, that's what I would expect. Can't be 101% sure though, I'm probably
doing the exact opposite of your method (see above).

In any case, it should be fairly trivial to teleport SDL_sound from
Livna to CCRMA, should Fernando or whomever find a few spare brain
cycles for that.
