A little update on this.
It seems that it is possible to run a Windows native VST host in wine
like savihost or vsthost.

I am trying to explore this route, but the main problem seems to be
that I cannot make wine's jack output work.
An alternative would be to use wine's alsa driver and then combine it
with jack apps using some .asoundrc wizardry. Other possibility is to
use the oss driver and then oss2jack, but probably this will break the
alsa midi communication. Both solutions look rather inefficient at a
first glance.
AFAIK, dssi is not a multichannel interface, so dssi-vst won't be a
solution for plugins like Kontakt.
As always, any input is greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Luis
