I also had to:

cp /usr/local/lib/pkgconfig/libfst.pc /usr/lib/pkgconfig/

but that might just be my config

Sort-of seems to work on my Athlon XP with the .athlon built of Wine.
I got some sounds from Crystal before it crashed.  Will check out others.
