Could you change your kernel config from:

# CONFIG_USB_EMI26 is not set

to:

CONFIG_USB_EMI26=m

so the Emagic 2|6 firmware loader gets built? The 6|2 is already enabled so the
omission of the 2|6 looks like a simple typo/thinko. No patch is required as
both loaders come with the standard kernel.

We talked about this a few months ago and I probably
dropped the ball somewhere in the email interchange.
