As I pointed out in another thread I finally could verify output on my
test digiface and I get sound in the front panel line out jack. 

Perhaps you could completely get rid of the /etc/asound.state file just
in case settings there from the older kernel/alsa version conflict with
the new driver. 

As there are automatic alsactl stores on module unload in the default
fc3 configuration I would suggest stopping alsa completely (best done
from a command line text login as otherwise the alsa mixer in the panel
will be killed). "/etc/rc.d/init.d/alsasound stop" should do it. Then
erase or move somewhere else /etc/asound.state. Then reboot, I guess
cold boot so that the digiface starts from a completely clean state.
