[PlanetCCRMA] alsa kept back?

i recently did an apt-get upgrade after not doing that for several 
months.  when i did, i got this message:

The following packages have been kept back
   alsa-driver alsa-firmware alsa-lib alsa-lib-devel alsa-tools 
alsa-utils midishare planetccrma-core-smp


i want to upgrade alsa, as i have had problems with it remembering my 
mixer settings.  is there a way to do that?  i dont really know what 
'kept back' means, so i am not sure if i should try to force it.  also, 
anyone know what the planetccrma-core-smp package is for?

ps- i too vote for a sc3 package in the planet.  keeping up with cvs and 
rebuilding all the time isnt easy.
