I'm using an ASUS P4P800 Deluxe-EAY, i865PE-ICH5 chipset based, running
almost for one year now. I do even run the P4 2.80C overclocked to 3.3GHz,
no worries since then.

Probably. However I'm not a good advisor on that, most of the time I end
using the onboard sound and it just works very satisfactorily to my
standards -- hey, it's not my production box, its my trash/development one
:)
