Hmmm ....
Alsamixer reports the following:
Card: NVidia nForce2
Chip: Avance Logic ALC650 rev 0
But I am for some reason using the snd-intel8x0 driver for it...
I have tried the NVidia proprietary drivers but had trouble getting them 
to recognize the card.

I thought that if ALSA was working OK on this Jack would work OK on top 
of Alsa...
