[PlanetCCRMA] update: kernel on the edge

Nope, try to do a "modprobe snd-ice1712" instead, it will load (or try
to load) what it needs. But it seems that the new alsa is somehow not
recognizing your card? Weird (I have a lot of ice1712 cards - midiman -
around here, but not the particular one you have).
