[PlanetCCRMA] qjackctl display config

i have a really stupid problem with qjackctl on my ccrma laptop only 
(doesn't happen elsewhere) where qjackctl will not store the diplay 
setting for the time display! i want it to stay on showing elapsed 
since last reset, but it always changes when i quit the app.
can i change it manually somwhere?

by the way, i'm not sure what's been updated lately in alsa (fc1) but 
my cardbus rme-multiface is working perfectly on the laptop now! 
yeah. close to zero xruns.
