[PlanetCCRMA] acpi fan control

Hi,

very happily running the 2.4.22-ll kernel on my laptop...:)
I have two fans in my machine which i can turn on/off with 
# echo 0/3 >/proc/acpi/fan/FN1/state

question: what software and/or configuration can i use to make the fan
state dependent of the temperature? (eg: turn fan on at 51° C, turn off
below...) ? >> Now it just stays on all the time (noisy....)
