Remove the following lines, that's the RedHat OSS configuration:

Type "/sbin/depmod -a"
Make sure alsa is activated to load on boot:
  /sbin/chkconfig --add alsasound

_and_, if kudzu (the RedHat hardware configurator) offers to reconfigure
your sound card politely decline the honor :-)
