good to hear it's fixed.

one of the things about apt that one will notice very quickly:

it's repository-centric

if i setup a machine to use the ccrma repository, i'm essentially ccrma-izing my
redhat system.

i could use the freshrpms repository and set my redhat system to the freshrpms
"flavor".

the other thing one will notice about apt:  it hates unresolved dependencies.

it will not let you procede with installs till you fix your dependencies. which
is done with the -f option.

the -f option is very powerful, with the "apt-get -f dist-upgrade" command, i've
completely un-ccrma-ized a machine and converted the system to another
repository.  that meant tons of packages got removed, and new ones replaced
them.

crazy. huh?
