lack of terminology here, sorry. i meant just when not in GUI 
foregroud. for example, if i have hydrogen and znadsubfx both open 
and patched in jack patch bay to out 1&2, then i move from zyn to 
change something in hydrogen (even while not playing) zyn removes 
itself  from jack. it no longer appears in the patch bay, i can't see 
how to reinstate it. in hydrogen, on the other hand, there is a 
button to restart audio, which sometimes works.

i  do see that the DIO button in PD is constantly turngin red off and 
on, even when nothign is happening. what could be going on?
