Well, not much we can do, must be a bug (feature?) in the new kernel.
I'm working on two new kernels for Planet CCRMA, a newer version of the
custom 2.4.20 kernel (based on 2.4.21-rc2) and a capabilities enabled
version of the latest RedHat kernel. One (or both) of them may solve
your problem...

Did you look in /var/log/messages or dmesg for symptoms?
