[PlanetCCRMA] Hard crash with cdrecord

Hi all,
Running red hat 8.0 with the latest planet kernel
kernel-2.4.21-1.ll.acpi
cdrecord hang the machine. It's a totaly new problem. Sometimes the
recording process has time to finish before the crash. But it always
hang.
Here is my log.messages just before the catastrophe :

Do you think it could be my cdwriter dying or it's very possibly a
software problem?
