[PlanetCCRMA] alsa crashes my system

That must be a bug in alsa cvs then. Freshrpms uses rc6, which
regretfully is broken for many ice1712 cards.

You could try rebuilding the freshrpms source rpms for alsa rc6 for the
Planet CCRMA kernel.
