Subject: [neurostuds_other] Neuroscience Classroom Outreach Opportunities: Sign up for Brain Day 2019!

Hello everyone,

We're still looking for volunteers for the upcoming season of Brain Day! This program brings members of the Stanford Neuroscience community (you, graduate students, post docs, faculty, med students, anyone!) into middle school classrooms in Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and East Palo Alto to show the students actual brain specimens. Brain Day sessions are easy to lead, extremely rewarding, and a good excuse to get out of lab for a couple of hours. It is a great experience for both the kids and for us!

The first session begins March 4th. To sign-up, please register to volunteer and attend a training session here<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScQv0EoQjpZObi7pHk0oQ-oktHmEUsxVVxcvQUHrN34ErIfcg/viewform>. Afterward, you will be taken to a google doc<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16_Wj9HrlF5oPfAuUsGB-GJOu31fsgtCOoHo31a8W61o/edit#gid=0> where you can sign up for specific classroom sessions.

After you sign up, we will send you a confirmation email with additional logistics.

This program is truly a highlight for the kids and we hope everyone will be able to participate. Please also pass the word on to labmates, classmates, and anyone else who might like to volunteer! Last year a couple of labs volunteered together as a lab and had a lot of fun.

If you are interested in learning more about Brain Day in general, you can visit our Brain Day website<https://sites.google.com/stanford.edu/stanfordbrainday/home?authuser=0>.

Feel free to email us if you have any questions!

Best,
Becky on behalf of the Brain Day team
