[CM] snd, config

Hello,

I installed 'snd' on a new computer, Debian 6.0,
but there is no sound output :

$ snd fpoly1.wav 
error message ----------------------------------
Cannot connect to server socket err = No such file or directory
Cannot connect to server socket
jack server is not running or cannot be started
can't play : open read /dev/dsp: Aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type
  [audio.c[576] linux_audio_open_with_error]can't play: no audio
supportcan't play: no audio support
-------------------------------------------------

There is no /dev/dsp but sox (play) is working
$ play fpoly1.wav 

How to configure 'snd' ?
