Hello,

I have used snd compiled with alsa for
many years on various versions of Fedora.

My main use is for recording and simple
editing of sound files.

The record option in the file menu has
not work in snd since version 8.9.

But that has not been a problem for me
since 8.9 satisfied all my needs.

Now I updated to FC8 and neither record
nor play work with alsa 1.0.15

with any versions of snd. I tried
compiling snd with jack and OSS options

in which cases I can play sound files
but I just can't get record to work.

I searched through various news groups
and could not find any helpful information

on getting snd/alsa record option to
work properly. This news group is my last resort.

I will be grateful for any help on this

Thanks in advance,

Zoran
