Yeah ... but in a later post I noted that the original maker of the
ondes martenot produced about 370 of them and stopped producing them in
1988. My guess is that the patent was renewed at least once. 1988 is 60
years after the 1928 patent date.
Electronic music patent battles can be quite fierce. The Hammond organ,
for example, made use of technology originally patented by Thaddeus
Cahill around the turn of the 19th - 20th centuries.
