it's working now. I took the file beyond.cm and evaluated step by step
and now output is there. Sorry for the noise. I don't know why it
didn't work yesterday.

BTW I'm using linux/guile-1.6.0 and latest cvs of cm.

P.S.: Your book is great! I'm using it in my courses in Essen and the
students seem to be quite happy.
