[CM] CM on a PC

Hi all,
A few newbie questions here, if anyone has the time...
I had thought I had asked some of these questions months ago when I first
began investigating lisp and CM, but now, looking through my list history I
guess I may have only *thought* I did. If this is a repeat though, please
excuse my lousy archiving skills.
Okay, so I've read enough Winston, Touretzky, and Cope to feel that I should
try to actually make an example (or two) in CM. First I want to make sure
I'm not expecting something to happen that won't...
1. I see that there are special instructions for getting midi to work on
both Macs and SGIs. Does this mean that midi does not work on PCs or that it
woks with no special preperations?
2. Plotter is huge for me. I'm very much a visual person. Does Plotter work
on PCs or is platform specific?
3. Does anyone know if CM works in the (beautifully documented) Franz trial
edition? Or should I just plan on using CLisp? Or some alternative?
Thanks in advance for lending a hand,
Carl Edwards
