[CM] appending sequences

This works fine on my desktop machine but is still failing on the
laptop. No fear, I'm pretty sure my lack of sleep and overconsumption of
caffeine have conspired to rob me of my intuitive grasp of the
obvious... I'll get it figured out, it's the same software on both
machines...

If it would eliminate one more manually-added option I'm all for it...
