Thanks for the feedback!

I'm having some problems with it on fc7 but obviously it depends on the
hardware you have. For example I insert my midi keyboard and there's a
kernel oops :-( Not very useful...

For an upcoming performance it looks like I'll have to use 2.6.22.10
with idle=poll, that seems to work (usb roland keyboard + rme pcmcia +
bcf2000 fader box).
