[PlanetCCRMA] kernel recompile needed for mixman dm2. any advice?

    I just beat my head against that one for about a day.  If you're
using a SATA drive for your boot drive make sure you load the SCSI
drivers into the kernel (not modules).  You also have to load the SATA
drivers into the kernel (which you can't do without loading the SCSI
drivers into the kernel).  You *also* have to find the specific card for
your SATA controller and load that into the kernel (in my case it was an
NVIDIA controller).  I finally got mine to get past the "can't find root
device" problem.  If you load all of the drivers you need into the
kernel I don't think you need an initrd image (but I could be wrong).
Unfortunately, my system still doesn't come all the way up but I'll get
there eventually ;-)
