*Bug 566665* <show_bug.cgi?id=566665> - [abrt] instability from snd-mtpav on
PCI parallel port, causes crash in jack-audio-connection-kit-0.118.0-1.fc12
(edit <#>)

The issue is one of either no midi input, or once I start hooking up a
device that sends midi clock, start/stop, etc, i get spurious midi input.
Although the effect is interesting (wavering pitches & pressures all over
the place playing back midi files), it is also nondeterministic.
Before triggering the bug (which I can only reset by reboot), the device
does work fine for 8 channels of midi output....

It's terrible to have hardware this useful so close to working....

Is this a bug in module 'snd-mtpav' ??

## modinfo snd-mtpav
license: GPL
description: MOTU MidiTimePiece AV multiport MIDI
author: Michael T. Mayers
srcversion: 602868A8184276D26D8B975
depends: snd,snd-rawmidi
vermagic: SMP mod_unload
parm: index:Index value for MotuMTPAV MIDI. (int)
parm: id:ID string for MotuMTPAV MIDI. (charp)
parm: port:Parallel port # for MotuMTPAV MIDI. (long)
parm: irq:Parallel IRQ # for MotuMTPAV MIDI. (int)
parm: hwports:Hardware ports # for MotuMTPAV MIDI. (int)

Or am I doing something wrong. One person told me, online, I should stop
using '-X seq' in jack, and use http://home.gna.org/a2jmidid/

Is that spurious advice??
