I think pulse audio has gone completely insane on my system - I have no
audio application running and yet pulseaudio is taking 100% of cpu

This is what top shows:
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
  1995 oded 9 -11 112m 4384 3440 R 100.5 0.1 21:51.04 pulseaudio

     3 root RT -5 0 0 0 S 0.0 0.0 0:00.00 migration/0

The applications that I was actually using when I started noticing the
machine grinding to a halt were gimp and openoffice. I closed applications
(including firefox) to see if this makes a difference and it didn't seem
to.
Any way of finding the source of this? or should I just disable pulseaudio
(and shoot the developers?)
  This is on FC12
