[PlanetCCRMA] Does alsa-plugins-jack work on fc10?

I was hoping that alsa-plugins-jack might be a way to get non-jack apps
to play through my firewire interface, but it doesn't seem to work.  I
get this message when I try to test it:

jack_client_new: deprecated
Playing WAVE 'test.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 88200 Hz,
Stereo
aplay: set_params:979: Sample format non available

Does anybody have the jack plugin working with alsa?  Or is there a
better way for non-jack apps to use the firewire interface?
