[PlanetCCRMA] sound in regular apps.

I am unable to get sound working in skype. I'm using a usb quattro sound 
card (which has to be defined as the default soundcard to get cm/clm/snd 
to use it). Trying every sound device that skype lists I can't get any 
sound at all. Anyone else managed to overcome this?
I'm running fc8.x86_64 on thinkpad t400
(I similarly can't get firefox to make noises, but that's maybe for the 
best).
