[PlanetCCRMA] fedora core distrubuition

I am going to get a new (used) dell d410 1,73 in 2 days.
i don t understand if there is any difference among the different
fedora distrubuitions regarding the audio enviroment.In simple words:
which one is to be advised?
The latest i ve tried out is FC8 but i am having problem with the xcb libraries.
So now that i am going to install linux in my new laptop i don t know
if i should stick to FC8 (just because it is the latest) or if i
should try older distros.
