This is the E-Mu 0404 USB product, correct? Has anyone got this to work
under
Alsa? When I first saw this, I looked around, and it seemed that early
indications were that there were difficulties getting it to behave. I would
LOVE to be proven wrong, however; it is a great looking box.

Well, from the ubuntu forums, it seems that The latest version of alsa will
not support EMU USB :-(
sorry for the false hope giving suggestion (I assumed that since alsa had
drivers for other emu's it would also support that.
In the alsa lists They State: "NOT SUPPORTED YET, but Emu have supplied
hardware sample and datasheets to the developer."
This is for the 0404, 0202, and xmidi (USB versions)
However.....
http://www.soundblaster.com/products/audigy2NX/ audigy2NX ....SPDIF output
does not function. but rest works.
http://www.soundblaster.com/products/extigy/ extigy .....[no 96kHz support,
no support for 24-bit samples]
Those are the two i found listed under Creative_Labs (You seem Partial to
them; as I am) but here's the
http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Matrix:Main list of all sound
cards supported. That list also shows the "In The works card/interfaces". I
simply clicked on a vendor and searched the page for USB
Hope this is helpful.
---side note
Being that creative and EMU are connected so closely, you'd think that if a
creative USB works, Then an EMU USB should. -- Sad that this is NOT the
case.
