Which version of fedora?
If it is a recent one something like this should list all X server
related packages:

  rpm -q -a | grep xorg

You could verify that a package is fine (ie: its contents are the same
as originally installed) if you do:

  rpm -V package_name

Of course things like configuration files, etc, will be flagged as
having some changes. 

What is failing? How? What error message do you see
in /var/log/Xorg*log?
